• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I do not know of any Christian books on BPD. What helped me was a close discipleship relationship with a mature Christian woman, who always took me back to the Truth of God's Word. My psychologist has always been secular.

You might want to check Amazon for a secular book, while finding a gender specific Bible study to attend. At that study, prayerfully seek a loving person to disciple you. Ask this person to help you apply the Truth of Scriptures to your situation.

Some Christian books that have helped me in my journey include "The Search for Significance," by McGee. Any book or Bible study by Beth Moore. The best study was about breaking free from strongholds, but I can't think of its exact title.

Haven't come across any good Christian books, but would definitely recommend these regardless:

- The Highly Sensitive Person [
- The Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Skills Workbook
- I Hate You Don't Leave Me: Understanding Borderline Personality Disorder

Six months ago I "stumbled" (no coincidences with God) across BPD on the Internet. I felt like I found gold. My husband has many of the classic symptoms and I now understand him so much better after devouring all the BPD books I could get my hands on (Kindle version for me so not literally get my hands on - LOL). I can't change him, but I can change me and I can learn as much as I can about BPD. I can talk with him about it in short spurts but he won't DO anything about it which is a classic symptom. Owning their own emotions, thoughts, actions, etc is what they lack so they don't usually do anything about their own BPD. I just pray diligently for him and I try to do the things the Button Pusher book explains for me to do in effort to help him like really listen to him. I am a good listener but I am working on being a better one. No other woman on the face of the earth could put up with what I have put up with and have survived as well as I have. That is what God has done in me and for him and for God's glory! I wish you well!

I have read Who's Pushing Your Buttons by Dr. John Townsend and it is what I would call a biblical view or a christian book. He also co-authored all the Boundaries books. The second link is a book titled The Essential Family Guide to Borderline Personality Disorder. I recommend this one as it is such an easy read unlike a few others I have read about BPD and would not recommend.

The Essential Family Guide to Borderline Personality Disorder: New Tools and Techniques to Stop Walking on Eggshells: Randi Kreger: 9781592853632: Amazon.com: Books
