I am in the middle of reading an excellent book on the topic of mental health and Christianity. It is written by a Christian psychiatrist.

I'd love to read it sometime, maybe when I've finished reading the tons of books I already have! I totally agree that Christians often do "shoot their wounded". People with mental health problems are often just told glibly to read their Bibles more/speak in tongues more etc. Add to that many ultra fundamentalists believe all psychiatry/psychology is "of the Devil" and should be avoided at all costs.
