book on the Popes?

hey y'all i was jsut wondering. does anyone know of a book that lists all the Popes and has a little info about each of them? like maybe their accomplishments or things that happened during the time they were Pope?

I'm not sure if such a book exists that gives much information on each and every pope, as there are some where very little documentation has survived, other than perhaps the term of their reign as pope. Also, such a book would be a daunting work. Even if, say, only 10 pages were dedicated to each pope, you'd be looking at a book that's over 2600 pages long!

There is, however, one book I would strongly recommend. It's called Upon This Rock, by Steve Ray. It's a historical look at the papacy, all the way back to St. Peter. The footnotes alone are worth the price.
