Hey folks,

Any online courses or podcasts that cover the Book of Concord? Maybe an intro to Lutheran theology?

Yours in the Lord,

jm
There is one put out by KFUO which is put out by the LCMS. Do a search on your podcast aggregater for KFUO

You can search for Book of Concord or Confessions (or the individual confessional writings, such as "Augsburg Confessions" etc) at:

KFUO Radio - What @Athanasius377 recommended. I'd also recommend checking out Cross Defense by Bryan Wolfmueller; a fantastic pastor who does a great job of explaining Lutheranism.

Issues, Etc. — Christ-Centered, Cross-Focused Talk Radio - Another podcast where they often talk about the Confessions.

Home Page - Concordia Theological Seminary's Media Hub - This is a bit more academic, but it's free and you can find a lot of resources by Concordia Theological Seminary.

If you're hungry for more, I can recommend some good books. Some are old and can be found for free as PDFs via Google Books.

Lastly, I also recommend Concordia: The Lutheran Confessions published by Concordia Publishing House. The edition includes commentary and is very rich in content but easy to read. And if you don't know it already, you can find the Confessions online at: Welcome to the Book of Concord

Blessings +

I have the leather bound edition, it is a real treasure for anyone interested in reading the BOC.

That's the one I have on order. I was going to be order a copy half a dozen times over the years but didn't. Now that everything is shutdown I have time to read it.

Thank you. I subscribed to the channel.

Is the Reader's Edition "politically correct?"

What are some of the smaller, more strictly confessional, Lutheran Church bodies?

Thanks,

jm

So, they get a dose of Christianity; either convert them or turn them off of hacking for good!

Yes, I believe that the "paid for"versions are; this is what we are using at Church. I just finished an Auto-cad Course through Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ontario. It was an in class course, and because of covid, we had to switch to an online format. They use Zoom for their on line course delivery.

Because of the density of the course content, my diminished hearing, and a great instructor, but a heavy accent, I actually got more out of the on line lessons than I did from the in class lessons. The instructor pre-recorded the instruction parts, and posted them, I could go back and review each lesson while doing my homework and assignments. I got a better mark because of it. Pastor posts the audio after the study.
