I believe it was because as far left liberals were cheering all the legal battles, generating the Russian Collusion hoax, and waving Trump's convictions like a victory banner, the majority of the American people knew things were not right. People are avoiding the DNC more than ever because of these schemes. Falling DNC approval and voter registration numbers say it all.
