  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am looking to buy a blu-ray player. There are so many variations that I am lost.
I don't need wifi which is offered or anything 'smart'. There are a few brands I will not buy. A lot of terminology that I don't understand. I don't necessarily want a Sony but it seems the only popular brand offered. Even Amazon mainly offers Sony at the price I want. I want to buy one for under $100 with delivery. If it is hooked up as a normal dvd is hooked up, (rca) Then I don't need any additional hook ups. A confusing description is built in? Wouldn't all blu-rays be built in? Other wise I think of external which makes no sense to me. It would need a remote included.
It doesn't have to be Walmart or Amazon just that delivery is offered.
I appreciate any help you can give me. I was looking for one with vhs also but the price is prohibitive. Of course I would want the most and the best of the ones offered for the money.
Its all very confusing looking at the various players offered. Comparing is impossible for me not knowing what the terminology is that they are talking about. They also offer what amounts to "rebuilt". New sounds good to me:)
Thanks so much for any help you can give me.

Not sure why the link says that but it does take you to the blu-ray listings.

You might want to get an older used one from a thrift store or on craigslist. Shouldn't cost too much. I looked at ebay and there are some there for 30-40 dollars.
'I don't want a used one and my experience with ebay is they sell junk or something that is not what a person wanted.
I thought a hundred is a good price for a new one and the link I posted to Walmart shows many sony's for less than a hundred.
Thanks
