I am trying to get other artists interested in this.
Many of you have heard of art cards where basically artists do small artworks and trade them with other artists. I am trying to take this and turn it into a "random acts of kindness" thing where artists make little art cards to send to people to cheer them up or brighten their day, whether or not the recipients are artists. I have been doing this on the Depression forum here and also am trying to get another artist I know to get in on it with me.
Obviously the more artists participate, the more blessing cards get sent.
You can send blessing cards to anyone, whether to people you know on Christian forum, people who are suffering adversity of some kind, people in hospitals, anyone who needs their day brightened (which is all of us!).
Of course artists can also trade them with each other, artists need love too.
I am hoping to turn this into a movement among Christian artists, an artistic token of divine compassion.
To get started, just make an artwork that will fit into a regular envelope (I make mine about 4x8 with an inch at top and an inch at bottom for text), scan it if you have a scanner so you can share the work online if the recipient prefers not to give addresses, or mail the recipient the artwork (or both). At some point we could have a forum here where people can show off scans/pics of art cards they have sent or recieved to share with others.
Peace!
