  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Jesus said, "Blessed are the POOR in spirit". Matthew 5:3

To be poor means you lack. The only way someone KNOWS, PERCIEVES that they lack is due to God's grace working in them, showing them.

John 3:27 "A man can only receive what is GIVEN him from heaven"

You will forever believe you sought Jesus FIRST or chose Jesus FIRST unless God chooses to reveal to you from heaven that you did not.

I admit (personally) to being bankrupt, blind and deaf unless God changes that in me. I don't claim to "see" anything or understand anything unless it's God's good pleasure to "give it to me", as the scriptures state.

One final thought: Even IF free will existed (which I do not believe. we only operate freely within the new nature God gave us), Who GAVE you free will? Even if free will existed, someone had to GIVE it, right? In that case, it's still not yours, but God's to give. ALL things are OF God, belong to God and it's all His to give. I am not supporting free will, just using this as an example .
