I'm not sure if there are many Bleach fans here....But I know that I am one of them!
Races:
Humans: Can have any form of spiritual awareness, and powers, but do not have zanpaku-to, or other shinigami or arrancar powers
Shinigami: Reside in Seireitei, or Soul Society, and fight with an externalised form of spirit energy condensed into blade form, known as a zanpaku-to. They are able to use spells (kido), and shunpo (Flash Step). For more info, visit Wikipedia, and look up Shinigami
Hollows: Hollows are former good souls that have descended into madness, and are forced to eat living or dead souls in order to find susitance. Hollows descended into this state when their Chain of Destiny was severed--it takes several months for the chain to corrode. There are many states of Hollows, but the most common appear to be hulking, semi-humanoid creatures wit skull-like masks. Stronger forms of Hollows include Menos Grande, which include the Gillians (foot soldiers; as tall as skyscrapers), Adjuchas (less common; more humanoid), and the Vasto Lords (only a handful exist in all of Hueco Mundo). Bount: The Bount is a race of spiritually aware semi-humans, that were accidentally created in Soul Society during a research of gigai (fake bodies used by Shinigami) and modsouls (souls that inhabit the gigai while a Shinigami is fighting in the human world). The Bount use Dolls to fight, which have a sealed and unsealed form; the sealed form is usually a common household item, such as a cane, or playing cards; the unsealed form is more weaponlike, playing on the Bount's ability to fuse with his Doll. Dolls have abilities that range from controlling water, to posessing others. Bount have everlasting youth, as long as they consume human souls, which makes them akin to both shinigami and Hollows.
Vizard: Vizard are Shinigami that have tamed their 'Inner Hollow' in an effort to gain Hollow powers, in a process known as Hollowfication. The process of releasing one's Hollow powers is done by putting on the owner's Hollow mask. The time a Vizard can sustain his/her Hollow mask varies (Ichigo can sustain his for only sustain his for eleven seconds), but the time during which they have their Hollow mask on gives them increased spiritual powers. The Vizard are able to use the Cero blasts of Hollows. Just like Shinigami, they can also use their zanpaku-to.
Arrancar: Arrancar, very similar to Vizard, are Hollows that have taken their masks off to gain shinigami powers. However, it is very difficult for a Hollow to do so on it's own, and most often, the change is not significant. Unlike normal Hollows, Arrancar retain a human form, depending on intelligence--however, all Arrancar shown in the series have human form, save Grand Fisher. Arrancar also have their own zanpakuto--however, the release form is different froma shinigami's shikai....It is instead called resurreccion (Spanish for resurection).
Quincy: Quincy are a seperate race of spiritually aware humans, which use bows and arrows made of reishi (ectoplasm in Japanese) to combat Hollows. However, most of the Quincy were exterminated by Soul Society, because when a Quincy kills a Hollow, it's soul isn't purified, only destroyed--this upsets the balance of good and evil souls in the world, so Soul Society had most of the Quincy exterminated. A Quincy's bow differs in shape in proportion to the Quincy's spiritual strength, as well as the cross that all of them posess somewhere on their body--usually as a necklace or bracelet. A Quincy also has a full-powered form by use of the Sanrei glove, which condenses a Quincy's spiritual power into one hand--if the glove is removed, it releases built up spiritual energy, unlocking the Quincy Final Form--however, it runs on stored energy, so the form can last for several days, or a matter of minutes depending on how much is stored--afterwards, the Quincy lses all of their Quincy powers, and the only way to retrieve them is to have another Quincy exhaust the Quincy who lost their powers, and strike them with an arrow mere millimeters away from the heart.
Now, all suggestions for a storyline are welcome--but it's going to be after Aizen's war.
