  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My son just showed me a shirt with Our Lord riding a skateboard. Is wearing this a sin? He found it here Church of Steezus Christ please help

Presumably your son is an adolescent. As the parent, of course your house your rules. But I'd argue that prudence would suggest not bearing a hammer, but a soft touch--in love you can express your discomfort with things such as this. But also, remember that children go through rebellious phases--this isn't a forever thing. At the end of the day it's only a shirt, and it shouldn't be cause enough to create antagonism between the two of you.

Let your love of your child be God's means of drawing your son to respectfulness and, ultimately, to a deeper love and appreciation of Christ. Do not be a pushover, but have the wisdom to know what battles to fight.

Personally I do not like any Christian clothing period whether it mocks Christ and simply a Christian advertising their faith like a personal billboard for the whole world to see. Merchandising Christ just feels so utterly wrong.

Over 20 years ago I came across what I think was a pretty obscure Christian band called Atomic Opera, the only song I really know by them was "Jesus Junk" which was a lamentation over Christian consumerist culture.

Great criticism on the Christian consumerist culture... just walk it humbly, don't wear it loudly.
