  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The question was regarding "whatever we call Christ Consciousness." Are we seeking truth or merely engaging in argument?

I would hope that all here have some desire to discover truth. The argument is not the end for me. I desire clearness and understanding, not confusion. However, without engaging with any concrete concepts and definitions, all that will be left is 'merely engaging in argument.'

So, either you have given an appropriate definition of Christ-consciousness (more than just one line) and elucidated clearly how it relates to and is different from the traditional eschatology (and furthermore explained what your understanding of traditional eschatology is - so that we are all on the same page), which goes a fair way to seeking the truth. Or, you have given a vague definition that really doesn't say much more than "the teachings Christ presented being manifest throughout humanity" - without the appropriate theological "how, why when and where" - which will no doubt lead us to merely engaging in argument.
