  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Loved it. It's very...unique. Artsy, sexual, strange, and filled with psychological imbalances. No way to really describe it. Found the ballet and dancers beautiful too, the music mesmerized me. Watched in twice in the theatre. It's not for everyone though - many love the movie and many don't like it. It's a very serious, slow film so be warned on the slowness, discussing some real important issues, mainly how these dancers strive for perfection too much, how society throws away women as they age, the sacrifices of beauty *such as allued to anorexia*, sexual confusion and the dangers of sexual repression, guilt mother/daughter relationships, and addiction to self-multilation in ways of dealing with stress.

Horrible.

It could be an interesting psychological thriller but there's sex around every corner. The lesbianism and masturbation themes are unneeded and just wrong. Natalie Portman is a great actress but she did not deserve the Oscar for this. Her performance barely reaches further than the mostly one dimensional portrayal of Nina; there was just no range for her to display. Take away the ballet and anyone could have played this part well.

Like I said, it could be a good psychological thriller if all the unnecessary sex themes are removed. As it is, the film left me with a bad taste in my mouth and wishing I'd never watched it.

And, no, it's not based on a book -- Black Swan is an Original Screenplay, sort of . . . it's a reworked version of another screenplay that never got made into a movie.

It's not horrible Zooma lol..it can shock some people maybe. I found it odd! I am still not sure what exactly was wrong with her. I don't want to ruin it for others...Natalie was at the best in acting I've seen her in. It is really tragic...

A big part of the story was psychological issues of sexual repression, which was why sex was in there.
