No, saying a movie is a "bomb" or something similar is saying that it will or did bomb at the box office, or not do very well. To most people this says that the movie is no good. Which of course is idiotic to say the least when you look at the average intelligence of our population, most people just want to see fart jokes, sex, and action, and don't care about real cinema.

Well, obviously it didn't do very well at the box office considering no one heard about it coming out and it came out in March. It's pretty much a fact.

I agree, but you're sort of pushing it. Many people still enjoy good cinema. As for the low IQ, don't complain, we're born like that.

No, the average American does not. The average American would go see, and enjoy, rubbish like the Benchwarmers over something like Lost In Translation.
I think people can enjoy both types of movies. I do.

And this movie looks alright. Not in a rush to see it. I'm more excited about the new Panahi film.

The trailers for this movie were quite misleading. It is actually a very poignant character drama about redemption. Granted, there is a fair amount of offensive material to sift through as it depicts Christian Ricci's sordid lifestyle as a wild party girl (and the film is apporpriately rated R and geared for adults) in the first half. But it is really about how a Southern farmer played by Samuel L. Jackson helps her fight her demons to become a better person and becomes the only one who truly cares about her welfare despite his unorthodox tactics. I also really liked how the moral center of the film was a Southern Baptist minister whom Jackson's character calls to talk sense to Ricci's character at several crucial moments. There will be some who are offended by the movie's content but it is there to depict a lifestyle of sin in the first half. It is ultimately a serious, cautious morality tale about healing old wounds.
