We feel that the Bible really is the only authority. So the fact that none of God's people (Israelite or Christians) are ever recorded in the Bible as having birthday celebrations is significant to us. And it's not that the Bible is mute on the subject. There are 2 birthday celebrations mentioned--Pharaoh and Herod. They were both Pagans and someone was killed at both (the Baker that Joseph interpreted his dream, and John the Baptizer at Herod's party). So we feel that these parties are seen in a bad light in scriptures. Add to that the fact that all the things done at birthday parties can be traced back to pagan origins and that Birthdays are one of the most important holidays in the church of Satan. I know that sentimentality is high, but we feel that God's feelings on the subject matter most. We have parties all the time. God is a happy God, and he wants us to be happy and enjoy the pleasures of life that He provided--but within the safety boundaries of holiness.

Any day is suitable for worship. Sunday is not the sabbath or any type of "holy day". So I think you're onto something!
