Birth Announcements

Please share your ideas here, especially if you have already had some experience with this. I really want a beautiful announcement with Baby's photo on it somewhere. Has anyone tried the magnetic route? I was reading about it and it looks awesome, but takes about two weeks from start to finish.

Money...if you found an awesome announcement that cost less than $1 a piece, I would love to hear about it.

I just got mine from Wal-mart--- it meant I didn't have to leave the house, and it was cheap I loved how they turned out! I think they were like 33 cents a peice I dunno- they looked like everyone else's I have recevied!

Magnetic sounds kind of fun...I wonder if you can get those made at Walmart or Target or something. Most of the people I know have had them made somewhere like that, not sure how much they cost though.

I wish you lived near me.. I'm a photographer and I could something so amazing and personal for you! Anyway, my advice would be to find out who (which store) in your area does the photofinishing for professional photographers in your area. They are often reasonable, have amazing quality and offer very creative things because they are serving pros who are reselling expensive products. The one I use is sooooo good. All you need is a good photo!
I'm getting so excited for you (and me)! It could be any time in the next few weeks!

when i did the birth announcements for luke..i had them homemade by someone i had met on the internet on a pregnancy board...they cost me 3.50 for EACH announcement but they were really cute!! This time around we just ordered them from the people who come to the hospital room and take the pics..they do digital..so they give them to ya immediately...it cost 24.95 for 20...so i guess thats 2.50 each. i cant imagine getting announcements for under $1 each..but i suppose its doable..

We're planning on going through Wal-Mart cause it's soo much cheaper than the hospital!! Of course, with everyone being out of state, immediately being able to send pics may be good...

I used Winkflash.com and paid 23 cents for each one.

Snapfish.com offers them, too, I believe.
