The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Here is my two cents worth. Adam and Eve were created in God's image-without imperfections in their dna until sin entered the world. DNA degradation began at the time sin entered the world. Somewhere at sometime over he years the "first" case of bp developed. There are known to be multiple genes involved in the illness of bp, some overlapping with schizophrenia. Family studies across generations show there is a tendency for bp to be inherited, but it is not always. The inheritance pattern also varikies and can skip generations. IN identical twin studies the rate of both twins having bp is 80% ish, so there are obviously other factors tht paly a role as well. So this is also an active area of research. There are cases in families with no known previous cases. So as always, not a derfinitive answer, but there is a tendency for bp to be inheritied.
