  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does anyone know who Tom Jackson is? For those of you who don't, he's a Christian performance coach. For those of you who do, you probably will know what I'm going to talk about.

On Tom Jackson's DVDs on preparing your stage plan, he goes over a thing called "BIG FUN" and how you should include Big Fun as part of your concert as a performer. Does anyone have any good ideas to share? (maybe ones that you've tried or currently use)

I have an idea that we might try. It's the Oreo song. It's a really silly song I wrote. Basically, I will sing the song and have the audience join in at certain easy parts saying things like "BABALOO, BABALOO". I know it sound weird, but it's a way to get the audience to participate, and ultimately, "loosen up".

So if anyone has any ideas, or is wondering what in the world I'm talking about!! Let me know! Thanks!! ;)

I got to see a lecture Tom Jackson gave in person, he definately knows what he's doing. As for the big fun thing, it depends on your crowd. Just listen to various concerts on CD or live and see what they do. Rich Mullins and Harry Chapin come to mind as masters of working the crowd, but obviously this is a little dated. You can approach it the same way, though. Good luck, pray about it, and know your audience.

Thanks for the advice. I've never seen any of their concerts, but I'll look into them.
