  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Tracking Biden's Cabinet picks as the incoming administration takes shape

Washington — With the inauguration of the nation's 46th president fast approaching, President-elect Joe Biden has spent the weeks after the election preparing to take the helm of the federal government. In addition to rolling out objectives to combat the coronavirus pandemic in his first 100 days in office, the president-elect has started filling out key positions in his administration, naming nominees who, if confirmed, will serve in his Cabinet, and appointees to top positions in his White House.

To date, Mr. Biden has announced or is expected to reveal more than a dozen nominees to serve in key roles throughout the federal government, first rolling out his picks to serve on his national security and foreign policy teams, followed by those who will help executive his economic and health agendas. Several crucial posts, however, remain unfilled, including who will serve as attorney general.

From Laguna Pueblo (NM). News is making a pretty big deal about her being the first Native Am interior sec. Maybe it is a big deal? Hopefully she'll be part of restoring Bears Ears National Mon (one of my fav places ever) to its original extent.

Not seeing any controversy among picks. That’s usually a good sign. Picking people that actually know something about the task and aren’t in place to do a DeVos sandbag job.

I can only hope that DeVos ends up being even more despised for being a trump sycophant than she already was (especially here in Michigan).

Yeah looks mostly like people interested in competent work over chaos and destruction.... which was the worst aspect of the outgoing admin. I mean yeah Orange Man was bad, but his crew often stepped up to match him if they didnt want to get fired.

Didn't one of them say mean things on twitter? That's definitely reason enough to cancel her.
Maybe, but it might be a good reason to get her elected president (next election).

It seems insulting, bullying, boorish, immoral, threatening, mean tweets is a personal characteristic lots of people in the United States like in a politician.

Of course, they wouldn't want one for a son-in-law, but it's perfectly acceptable as a POTUS.

There's a little controversy over General Austin, since he hasn't been out of the military long enough. He'll need a waiver to get the job.

As I recall, Mattis was in the same situation, and received such a waiver without a problem.

Of course, the Senate might choose to create a problem out of spite.

Joe is the primary sycophant in his administration doesn't need anyone else to fill that role and all his relatives are too busy selling influence to foreign entities to be bothered with less lucrative positions within the administration.

Chairman Xi.

Ah. So you expect Biden to be Xi's yes-man, then. Well, we'll have to keep an eye on them and make sure Biden doesn't sell us out to China, then, won't we?

Somehow I'm not all that worried about it, but it pays to be vigilant.

I'd bet that there will be more investigations into who was selling influence to foreign entities soon enough.
