Mohammed and Christ aren't comparible. Mohammed is not meant to be a divine revelation of God, just a (human) messenger. The Koran is the closest equivelent to Christ in Islam. In your view. In your opinion. Not in mine. No more so (on any of those) than Christianity has been and (in some quarters) still is. Perhaps because they can see that conservative Islam is not much different than conservative Christianity, and moderate Islam not much different than moderate Christianity, on the issue. It's interesting to note that two of the largest Islamic countries (Indonesia and Pakistan) have both had female heads of state, while neither Australia nor the US has. Hardly. But then its rare to encounter moderate Muslims vilifiying Jews. Complaining about the state of Israel, in particular its treatement of Palestinians, yes; but that's not the same thing. Hardly; I don't know anyone who is happy about the current regieme in Iran. The President of Iran does not represent moderate Islam. The difference being how much effect I can have. As a citizen of a western democracy I am entitled to a say in the actions of the country(s) of which I am a citizen, and my voice can also contribute to influnce over the other western democracies to a tiny extent, but my joining a parade up Swanston Street to protest at the uterances of the president of Iran would have zero effect so (like just about everyone else) I'm not going to bother. But this is way off topic - the Iranian government does not represent moderate Islam, and it's not Muslims opposing bibles in hospitals - so I don't propose to debate it further.
