  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Okay guys, I need your help please. :help:

As some of you know I've never personally encountered Sunday School classes in a Catholic Church in the last 32 years! Some of you assue me there is such a thing, so i am begging you to send me some information about the resources that these classes use. Armed with this information i may be able to achieve some success in this area.

My second hiccup comes in the area of bible Study for Catholics. I can access heaps of non-denominational bible studies through Koorong and Word, however when i rang our "local" bookshop (We have 1 Catholic bookshop in Brisbane!) I was told that no such things exist for us.
I had a look at a Knights of Columbus website in the US and they offer free studies, but when I asked a friend who is very involved in the church he just gave me a blank look and said he'd never heard of this being offered over here?

Am I looking in the wrong places our asking the wrong questions?

At least two of the churches that I have been to didn't have 'Sunday school', but instead had classes for young Catholics - the CCD classes - that met outside of the Mass. These seemed to usually be Wednesday evenings for young children, but switched to Sundays for older kids (probably because older kids are too likely to want to do other stuff on weekdays, and Sundays get higher turnouts). One of these parishes had the children leave during the readings and come back right before the Apostle's Creed. But I think it really depends on the parish. My current parish caters to college students, and there are probably less than 10 people under the age of 12 in the whole parish.
