  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Peace in Christ.

Speaking in terms of the “last Adam”….Jesus the Christ, the Son of God:

Jesus died for our sins as “Adam slept” and God took one of His “ribs”…that is, sides…and closed up the flesh instead thereof….that is, underneath. The “woman” that is “built” from that side that was taken is symbolic of the building of the church.

Gen 2:21 KJV
(21) And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

When we think “side”, we remember the soldier piercing the side of Jesus where immediately came out blood and water. Jesus witnessed to us by His coming into this world and speaking the words of the Father in the Spirit in this world and the giving Himself for us in this world.

Joh 19:34-35 KJV
(34) But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

There is then the statement of John about witnessing connected to this event. The "side" refers to testimony.

(35) And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

Yet, there here are 2 sides….2 testimonies or witnesses.

As we know Jesus who came through blood and water and is one witness and the Father in Heaven is the other, greater witness of Jesus.

Joh 8:17-18 KJV
(17) It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
(18) I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me

“The flesh is shut up” underneath Heaven….in the earth….as it is the Father in Heaven who reveals to each of us within that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God by which we confess this very thing with our mouths.

Flesh and blood does not reveal it to us but the Father which is in Heaven. The flesh is shut up to this revelation as it is the Father in Heaven that reveals His witness from above of Jesus and builds the woman….the church is built upon that solid revelation.

Mat 16:15-18 KJV
(15) He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
(16) And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

“Simon the son of Jonah” speaks of hearing the Spirit. “Simon” = hearing. “Jonah” = “dove”. The "flesh is shut up" as flesh and blood does not reveal that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God but only the Father which is in Heaven.

(17) And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
(18) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The “flesh is shut up”. This is why Jesus charges His disciples that they should not tell man that he was Jesus the Christ as it is the Father in Heaven that testifies/reveals it to each of us within.

Mat 16:20 KJV
(20) Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

We have 2 sides…2 witness…one in the earth and one in Heaven:

1Jn 5:6-9 KJV
(6) This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
(7) For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
(8) And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

(9) If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

We have God’s witness...His revelation of the Son... within us and it is the greater witness. His witness comes from Heaven and is not from underneath...not from flesh and blood.

1Jn 5:10 KJV
(10) He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

From this witness, He “builds a woman”…the church….which is brought to Jesus….the last Adam.

Gen 2:22
(22) And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made (built) he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

For we...the called out (the meaning of "church")... are members of His body…of His flesh and of His bones.

Eph 5:29-32
(29) For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
(30) For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
(31) For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
(32) This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

We have been "called out" from among the common mankind (iysh) of the earth.

Gen 2:23
(23) And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man (iysh).
