Peace in Christ.
In the metaphor of the "regeneration" of man, the "dry" land is called "Earth" as the meek shall inherit the Earth.
A good and honest heart is the “good ground”….the good earth…that hears the Word spoken in truth (“And God said…”) and receives it (the heart is dried from the “waters” of strife and contentions) and brings forth fruit according to the measure of faith one has been given by God.
A “dry” heart…dried of the superfluity of evil waters that covers the heart…will retain what it hears…and will bring forth fruit in Christ who is the Seed within us.
We can bring forth the fruit of righteousness (in Christ) in degrees also according to the measure of our faith.
(Mar 4:20 KJV) And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
We hear the Word/Saying of God (“And God said…” ) and the good heart will receive it in peace.
The good heart shall bring forth “grass”…that is, abundant peace (He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters).
Gen 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
The “herb yielding seed” is faith. The "herb sowing seed". We have faith in the Word (the seed sown) that is sown in the heart.
“After his kind” = according to measure of our faith He has given us. The good heart will hear the Word and bring forth abundant peace (the "grass") and will receive it in belief.
They KEEP or retain the Word within themselves where it can then bring forth fruit with “patience”…patient endurance.
(Luk 8:15 KJV) But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
Gen 1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
But as a tree yielding fruit and we can only bring forth the fruit of righteousness when we abide in Christ (who is the “Seed” within us).
We can only bear fruit in Christ (the Seed was in itself). The fruit of righteousness is by Jesus Christ. Christ must be within us. Christ within us.
(Php 1:11 KJV) Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
We must abide in Him and Him in us (the Seed was in itself) in order to be able to bear much fruit. Without Him (the Seed of Christ within us) , we cannot bear any fruit of righteousness on our own.
(Joh 15:2 KJV) Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
(Joh 15:3 KJV) Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
(Joh 15:4 KJV) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
(Joh 15:5 KJV) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
(Joh 15:6 KJV) If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
His Word is like the rain that comes often upon the earth (the heart) and the earth brings forth herbs…
(Heb 6:7 KJV) For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
The light of God shines and arises within our darkened hearts (the “evening and the morning” of the heart) progressively until there is no more darkness (as the light of 7 days ) within us.
The “bright and morning star” arises within the darkness of our hearts and is the proof of God within us that this is His Son (who we are to hear) speaking to us as He interprets the Scriptures for our understanding.
Gen 1:13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
