Peace in Christ.
(Gen 1:1) In beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
God created everything (from A to Z) in the heavens and in the earth in verse 1. He created everything through Jesus who is the “Beginning” (in Beginning) of the creation of God.
Mankind is without excuse because God’s invisible attributes can be readily seen through the visible Universe itself. We can understand Him by the manifest created things that we see with our literal eyes.
But man did not seek to retain the knowledge of God is his mind but instead became vain in his thoughts and reasoning (professing himself to be “wise”) and so mankind’s foolish heart became darkened. All of mankind’s heart has together become darkened from the knowledge of God as man professed himself to be “wise”.
Hence, the earth BECAME without form (the form of godliness/His righteousness) and void (empty of His knowledge). Mankind upon the earth is without His righteousness and void of His understanding.
Darkness was upon the face of the deep…upon the heart of mankind…as all have turned away and do not understand. They know (void of God's knowledge) not to do good (being without the form of godliness).
(Gen 1:2) And the earth BECAME without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Seeing the visible creation was not enough for mankind to believe in God and be thankful to Him…to worship Him. Mankind must be renewed in the “regeneration” that Jesus spoke about.
(Mat 19:28 KJV) And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Now man must HEAR the Word of God as the Spirit of God moves upon the face of the waters. The “waters” are people and their speaking (languages).
Men of God speak as they are moved by the Spirit of God to speak (in Christ) to man who has become without the form of godliness/righteousness and void of the knowledge of God.
The first lesson to the darkened heart of man is that “God is Light” and in Him there is no darkness. Genesis 1:3 is the message that "God is Light".
“Let there be light” = He is Light.... the statement/lesson to the darkened heart of man is that He is Light.
God is a God of knowledge and His Light shall shine within our own darkened hearts when we hear His voice speaking through those who are moved by the Spirit of God to speak in Christ (the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters).
(Gen 1:3) And God said, “He is Light”: and there was light.
Men speak as they are moved by the Spirit of God to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God to others in the FACE of Jesus Christ.
(2Co 4:6 KJV) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
“And there was light” = we respond to His knowledge with light….with good things (peace, love, joy, gentleness, patience, etc) and not with the works of darkness (envy, strife, contentions, etc).
We become children of the light while we have His Light shining within our own hearts as we are to walk with Him in the light of His knowledge. We behave with the form of His righteousness when we receive the knowledge of God (the Light).
(Gen 1:4) And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
We become sons of the Day (awake to His righteousness) and not of the Night where many remain “asleep” to His righteousness as they forget to do good in response to the light of the knowledge of God. God divides the light from the darkness.
What communion do we have with those who will respond in unbelief of what they hear? We must come out from among them (the unbelieving churches of men) and be separate as God divided the light from the darkness. We must not be unequally yoked together with them.
(Gen 1:5) And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning, Day 1.
As Jesus said, walk in the light (do good) while you have the light (the hearing of the knowledge of God) lest darkness (doing bad) come upon you and one will stay in the darkness of not understanding.
(Joh 12:35 KJV) Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
The light (the bright and morning star arising in our hearts) will go down when we do not believe in the light…to walk in it. The sun (Jesus) will depart and hide Himself from those who will not believe in what He has to say.
(Joh 12:36 KJV) While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
(Joh 12:37 KJV) But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
The “evening and the morning” speaks of our darkened hearts that breaks forth with His Light as the dawning of the morning light in the darkness of the early morning.
The Light (like the sun) will continue to arise in our hearts until there shall be no more darkness (the darkness of not knowing). It progressively gets lighter and lighter (Day 1, Day 2, Day 3…) as the darkness gradually disappears until Day 7 where there is no “evening”.
The day dawns (the morning) in the darkness of our hearts (the “evening and the morning”).
The “bright and morning star”….the “day star”…arises in our hearts…when we continue to attentively hear the heavenly interpretation of the Scriptures as spoken by Christ. More knowledge shall be given when we take heed on how we hear.
We know that this is His Son whom we are to hear by the “bright and morning star” arising in our hearts at the hearing of His voice from Heaven. It is the “sign of the Son of man” who speaks to us.
(2Pe 1:19 KJV) We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
(2Pe 1:20 KJV) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
Holy men of God spoke…and continue to speak…as they are moved by the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
(2Pe 1:21 KJV) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
