  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I think that Bible Study and prayer are the two most important Christian Disciplines and are also two of teh most neglected. What are your thoughts on the two?
How do you approach a 1,189 chapter book?
How do you approach the Ancient of Days to talk with him?
Throughout the course of your Christian life what have you found to be true, and not true, about Bible study and prayer?

 I think that you are so right, they are the most important things without it how can we grow spiritually? I try to several verses a day I have a devotion thing that I got at church that I try to follow but I also leave room for the LOrd to speak to me to read something else. I come to Him in prayer like I would a person and just talk to Him like he was sitting next to me.

My dear young brother,
Since you know it, if you practise it, you will stand firm and not be blown away by false teachings. In fact, you will discern false teachings and warn your brothers.

Praying is asking God to fulfill the bible promises that you learned from bible study. If you lack bible promises, you do not know what to pray about.

How do you approach the bible? With humility. If you ubject yourself to the authority of the words, the words will lead you to Jesus. How do you approach God? With humility. As Jesus is humble, so are you.

The thing that comes to mind first is that we all must get up eaaaaarly in the morning and read our bibles and pray. Our new membership classes taught us this (indirectly), and I found myself in a state of self condemnation and bondage because I am not a morning person and could not stick to this.

Now I read at night and during the day when my mind is most refreshed, and I pray all throughout the day.... When the spirit moves me to pray about something, I pray.

I also try my best to listen to the Holy Spirit (of course, I am still growing...) and when the Lord tells me to read or study something, I try to read it right away and pray about it if I don't quite understand what I've read.

:)
