  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Which Bible reading plan do you intend to follow in 2012?

I selected the weekly and chronological one, from Genesis to Revelation, one book at a time. I like it because if I miss a day, on the next day I just pick up where I left off. Chronological because I memorize Scripture more easily when I focus on one book at at time.
Reading OT, NT + Proverbs and Psalms everyday is what I used to do, but this year I want to try the weekly reading plan, one book at a time.

So week 1, it will be Genesis 1-24 :)

This sounds great, and I'd always liked to try reading chronologically (irrationally of course, you know... the "book-a-day-impossible" plan? That was me!)

I'm going to steel your plan, but I'm going to cite my source :p

Unless we miss like a month, is it likely to "finish" reading before the year ends?

Yay! ^_^
It is not my plan though, I found it in my NASB inductive study Bible.
Do you have the weekly plan or do you want me to post it for you? I am sure I can find the same on Internet.

That'd be awesome if you could post the plan for me! Thank you. :)

I can't post the reading plan from my Bible since it is copyrighted, could not find it on Internet either :sigh:

But I found a similar one on this list that has several reading plans.
Weekly Bible Reading Plan PDF Download. The plan you're looking for is the third one on the list.

Well, mine is quite similar, week 1 is Genesis 1-24 but yours is Genesis 1-21. Not a big deal. :)

Thank you, np at all. I'll just be three chapters behind you ^_^ I've heard of a reverse chronological order. It might be confusing reading about Jesus growing into a baby :p I wonder who else is going to commit to a specific reading plan... no problem with "free-roam," however.

In other weeks, it is the other way round, I'll be 2-3 chapters behind you, and on the last week 52, you read one more book (2 John) than I do.

Yes, I saw the reverse chronological one, weird huh?

So I have a Bible app on my iPod, and I just ventured into the Bible reading plans, and I have signed myself up for 2 plans: "Chronological" (Focus: Gen 1:1- Rev. 22:21 Duration: 365 days) and "Everywhere I go: Learning to See Jesus" (Focus: Selected verses from OT and NT each day, related to the topic of the day Duration: 363 days)

The first one is to get me familiar with well the whole thing as best I can. And the second one is to help me keep my focus on my Lord and some pretty deep perspectives on life and how God is with me in the situation.

So far I like it, but today is only day 2.
