If theres a will theres a way. If theres a will to harmonise the contradictions, theres a way for the Christian to do so. Whats surprising is that people should be able to find contradictions, apparent or no, at all.
Hi Heather,
I disagree. If what you are saying is correct, then any literature or document can be harmonized. I've found errors and contradictions in Mormon literature, for example, that cannot be harmonized. If you think it can, then by all means, please harmonize it.

I dont care much for internal contradictions in the Bible. For me, the contradiction been Genesis and science is enough to invalidate the whole book.
I'm glad you said this. Answers in Genesis has recognized how current, secular, scientific thought (e.g. evolutionism) has undermined Genesis. They articulate this very well in their book called, "Why Won't They Listen?" It's a great read and I recommend it.
Let me make two points. First, there is an argument for billions of years being harmonized with the Genesis account of creation. I believe it is inaccurate and falls short, though. However, people such as Hugh Ross would beg to differ with me. If you want to see some of my creation science pages, please go here:
http://mustsee.jcsm.org. If you'd like to see a paper I wrote on Genesis 1 and 2 and how the creation week was definitely a literal week, then please go here:

The second point is this: don't forget that the theory of evolution is not based on observable facts. It is essentially a faith-based, religious belief.
I firmly believe in every form of evolution that we have observed. For instance, I believe that a primrose plant produced a different species of primrose plant. That is a fact. However, I don't believe in the evolution that nobody has ever seen.
If you do believe in evolutionary steps and leaps that nobody has ever seen, can you honestly call them facts? Why would you prefer to believe in the evolution we have never seen instead of the Genesis account of creation? Why should I trade my faith for your faith?
Have a good night and thanks for your time.
Sincerely,
Jason Gastrich
