The problem is that the media lives within the liberal bubble, as does most of social media checkers. So all you hear and see is the liberal bent on things. So the nation see the world through the lenses of a liberal bubble.

The answer seems to be to watch equal amounts of BOTH Fox and CNN.
And visit Christianforums.com, it's given me a better grasp of the different sides.

...or neither. Both operate off a business model of creating drama for ratings...

The survey asked Democrats: “How many Republicans believe that racism is still a problem in America today?” Democrats guessed 50%. It’s actually 79%. The survey asked Republicans how many Democrats believe “most police are bad people”. Republicans estimated half; it’s really 15%.

IMO, one of the biggest problems we have today (and reflected in these forums) is the strong tendency to put people in ideological boxes and assume to know their motives.

We were talking about this the other day. And not just these forums. It is in the media, politics, basically everywhere. Somehow these groups have the ability to read your heart and minds. Good example is Trump's statement about the squad. He used words like "countries" "governments" and "places." But the left and the media reported "races." Even tho he uses these words, the left and the media know "what he really means" and so twists and changes the wording.
Again with immigration he uses words like "Mexico" and "terrorist nations" and the left hear "race" and "Muslims." Because the media lives in the liberal bubble, that is what is reported.

I think it's just a vocabulary problem. There is a perfectly good word for Trump, and that is "nativist." As a matter of circumstance, his nativism is directed towards people of color. It's the same nativism which was directed towards Poles, the Irish and Italians in the 19th century who happened to be white. Now we have adsorbed all the white non-WASPS who are likely to want to immigrate in large numbers, so nativism must be directed of necessity towards people of color. Does that make it racism? Personally I don't think so. Nativism is directed at ethnicity rather than physical race.

When someone allegedly makes a controversial statement, I try to find a video (c-span) or transcript (internet, twitter) and evaluate for myself. These sources are not always available but often they are.

38, but fairly meaningless since the quiz is very American centred.
True. Fact is everyone lives in a bubble of sorts created by their own personal beliefs. loves, fears, etc.
Those who think that the do not live in a bubble and are open minded, generally do not believe or care about anything. A homeless person could be a good description of someone who does not live in a bubble. What do you consider a bubble? Is it a fortress or is it a prison? The quiz assumes it is a prison. Some might think it is a fortress. They are opinionated true... but that is only bad if their opinions are reality-denying wrong. For instance, the transgender issue. Those who insist that transgenderism is a protected right that has to be accepted and respected by all are also reality-deniers. A man who is genetically, biologically, and physiologically a male cannot, by these sciences, be a women. But their flat earth belief system says he can be a women. They even invent a new pseudo science that touts this belief. They would claim they have escaped all bubbles but they had to deny reality to do it. They live in the worst bubble of all... a fantasy bubble that believes in unicorns, flat earths, and men who are really women.

For many of the American questions, you can just substitute a local equivalent, although some are tapping into inherently American social phenomena.
