Hi,
I have come across various comments talking about some kind of fall/destruction of the earth occuring between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2.
Of late i have been thinking about this thing (is there a name for it?), and i have been trying to come to an argument whether i accept this or reject it.
My conclusion, is that i have looked up where it uses the term "in the beginning" and "from the beginning" in the bible, and i am drawn to the few places in the N.T. where Jesus talks about man and woman, as in this text.....
"But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female." Mark 10.
Now if Gen 1:1 says that in the beginning God made the heaven/s and the earth, and the creation account occurs in seven days, then i am of the opinion that this 'destruction of the earth' and it's time period until Gen 1:2 or whatever it may be termed, could not have happened.
Any other thoughts on this?
thanks.
