Whats the best program for downloading music? I used to use Kazaa Lite, but now it wont work ( some .dll file is missing apparently) and I'm real skeptical of ones I've never used. I have stopped downloading songs lately, but one of my best friends is in the Marines, over in Iraq, and he really needs some music, and sent me a songlist and I need to get some of these songs.

Type "index of \mp3" on google... lol...

Add a band or song name after the quote if you want... Works way better than dealing with all the $%^& fake files.

Also, I would be happy to trade or give you some songs. I have a bjillion of them.

That has some good ones! :)

Also, http://www.mp3int.com/eng/

Green Day - Boulevard of Broken Dreams Great song!!!

Also - If index of mp3 doesn't work, try "parent directory" song/artist

or "index of a" acdc

something like that.

Just search for hosted files. :)

I usually alternate between WinMX and LimeWire. WinMX is nice because it doesn't have any other programs bundled with it at all, but it's doesn't have all the bells and whistles that LimeWire or one of the others do. It's always worked well for me, though. If you're behind a router, though, LimeWire is probably the better option.

Of course, another option would be scouring out MPEG or DivX/XviD-encoded AVIs of music videos and then using a different program to extract the audio from them. That would eliminate the need for file-sharing networks (although a lot of those videos are on there anyway).

I have LimeWire on my laptop, but have no idea how to use it. But I found this really good site - http://www.singingfish.com - that has a very comprehensive search engine. I mainly use it for finding samples to see whether particular artists or songs are good enough for me to buy the album :)
