What is your opinion as to the greatest game ever made, for any system or computer, and why? I will throw in my vote...

Baldur's Gate II:Shadows of Amn and its expansion

Reason: Simply the largest RPG campaign ever created, with the single greatest story ever told in a game. With over 300 hours of gameplay between the game and its expansion, the fun lasted as long as you could. I WISH I could still play it. I would love to play this game again.

I have to say the Might and Magic series especially since the Mandate of heaven...don't think i want to try dark messiah since 3DO is not putting it out

icewind dale 2 was awesome arcana of steam and magiks was a great game although a little convoluted at times

Also, Im pretty sure TES2: Daggerfall is a larger campaign than BG2, (the lad area alone is twice the size of Great Britain), then again, so is Morrowind and Oblivion. They arent NEARLY the size of Daggerfall, it once took me 2 1/2 months in real time to walk from one end of the world to the other, walking about 4 hours a day.

This might sound silly but IWD had some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard in a game. I'd go to certain areas and stand around just to listen to the music.

A game that hasn't come out yet? I wouldn't be so hasty. Remember how many people thought Episode 1 was going to be the best movie ever just because it was coming after the first three Star Wars movies.

Or for a more recent example, it may be like how Sony thought its PS3 would fly off the shelves because it follows the PS2.

It...did fly off the shelves. People were KILLED over it. Granted so far it's a crummy system with worse games, but its unwavering army of fanboys stay vigilant.
