Appearance: Nothing overly remarkable about him for a sk'kirrim-- he has short, tawny brown hair and greenish eyes, and a relatively strong build for his race. He tries to blend in with his dress, usually hiding his light armor under something else, and during the occasional trips he makes into human cities he also adds a wide-brimmed hat and a cloak so his race isn't as painfully obvious.
Personality: Berlein is a very rational and level-headed sort, almost too rational for his own good. He is rather suspicious and distrusting of strangers, but once his trust has been earned he warms up considerably and is really not a bad sort to deal with.
Abilities: Perceptive and can generally read others pretty well, including non-sk'kirrim, and also a good fighter with a polearm. He is nowhere near the skills of the Prophetess, though, in that department.
Background: Having lived his entire life with the effects of the Great Divide, Berlein is no stranger to conflict. He grew up revering the Knights of Caladun, who were very few at the time but also very capable, and respected the Prophetess most of all for having the brass to stand up against millenia of corruption. His father, an ex-priest, had seen it all firsthand and therefore heartily approved of Berlein's decision to follow the Prophetess.
Berlein achieved full Knight status rather quickly, as he proved quite loyal and capable. After the death of his Chapter's previous leader he stepped in to take her place, though his tenure was regrettably brief. A visit from Lucia heralded disaster: a surprise attack and a betrayal from within wiped out nearly his entire Chapter, and the Prophetess herself vanished in the fracas. All signs seem to indicate that she was captured in the raid.
Quirks: In times of severe stress he can be just a little too quick to seek the bottle...
Objectives: Right now, Berlein's primary objective is to find Lucia. He also wants to avenge his decimated Chapter.
