  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Matthew 4:1-11 (21st Century King James Version)
4 Then was Jesus led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He afterward hungered.
3 And when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If Thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.”
4 But He answered and said, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.’”
5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, and set Him on a pinnacle of the temple, and
6 said unto Him, “If Thou be the Son of God, cast Thyself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge concerning thee; and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.’”
7 Jesus said unto him, “It is written again: ‘Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.’”
8 Again, the devil took Him up onto an exceeding high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them,
9 and said unto Him, “All these things will I give Thee if Thou wilt fall down and worship me.”
10 Then said Jesus unto him, “Get thee hence, Satan! For it is written: ‘Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.’”
11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered unto Him.

Can anyone wrap their theological mind around Ben Adam? Wasn't Adam ignorant of sin before his fist sin? And if so, how could Jesus have been Adam? Would it be possible for Him not to know, even before time, about the knowledge of good and evil?

The difference is between Adam when he was one and Adam when he became two, when the woman had become a garden that was not enclosed. So begins the process of time. John spoke of Jesus as ... he who has the bride is the bridegroom. This is the whole of the pattern of the process found in scripture and is played out everywhere you look.

Right over my head there. I have seen nothing of Eve becoming an open garden. And the idea that Jesus Christ could have been Adam before Adam's sin doesn't make sense, being Jesus would have had to forget all about the knowledge of good and evil. Besides, I always felt like the tree of life was a good symbol of Christ's life everlasting.

Hi rdcast.
Not sure of what you mean, but there is a difference between Adam being ignorant of sin, yet understanding the command of God. The Bible says Adam was not deceived by Satan, so Adam disobeyed God knowing that he would die as a result. Adam took from his wife what he knew would cause his death. Does that help at all?
Knowing you're a caring brother in Jesus Christ is help enough.
It's interesting you'd point out what to me is not so clear. Where does it explain this about Adam was not deceived? And I have a loaded question for you as well. If Adam was assured to die that self-same day, how could his years number 930 more?

Through the son is the knowledge of God, the first son Adam was a robber and a thief, a lie. The second son, Jesus was a quickening spirit, the truth, who put to death Adam or became the last Adam.

Eve became this when she was taken out of the man, her covering became Adam, dust, so to speak, this all has to do with the process of time and the truth/son being birthed in us.

These all are pictures of truth as you said the tree of life is, or an unveiling of Jesus whom the scriptures testify of, this life that now abides in us.

Mary supposed Jesus was the gardener ... it was Adam that was put into the garden to tend it and keep it.

Mary thought of our Lord as a gardener? Where??

Your description of Eve is not scriptural I fear and there was only one Adam who died 70 years before the end of the first God-day.

Check in scripture where the tomb is empty, I'm sure you have a bible an a concordance, just look up the word gardener.

Adam was seventy years short of entering into the seventh day, the day of rest. How many times do you forgive someone in one day ...

You must not measure with your soul the word of God or you will quickly build a city and name it Enoch rather than become the city or habitation of God.

This is why you lose your soul ... to gain it. He who has the bride is the bridegroom/christ and this is within us, not measured by that which is without.

yes, many concordances, but I'm not lead into curiosity over something that doesn't strike a chord :p

Now you've struck a chord with this thought of "Adam was seventy years short of entering into the seventh day" Step back if you can't back this one up.

The bit of measuring with the soul isn't the side of the pool I wish to swim in.

Joh 20:15 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.

If the seventh, seventy (seventh month, seventy years, seventy elders, seventy weeks, etc. etc. ), have struck a chord with you than it is the spirit that dwells in you that has plucked the chord, he will lead you into this all truth that has no end and then you may find that Mary's supposition takes on a new light of it's own.

Oh my gosh!!! Don't even... you must stop reading because it's hurting you. She thought the voice was coming from the gardener around the tombs, not her son the gardener, for goodness sakes.

Concerning your words on the sevens. You could be right, I can't tell at the moment, so I wont discount it, but (thinking about it) you're right about the number 70. Adam lived 930 years after leaving the garden and then died. One God-day = 1,000 man-years. So Adam died 70 years short of a full God-day. Interesting thought, I'll give you that

Wrong Mary (read more:p) ...

For the record, I never said she didn't turn, John (as well as Job), had to turn to see, when he heard a voice behind him ...

It's quite fine though, I'm not interested in anyone's approval ...

Okay, perhaps Adam of old did speak to Mary, doesn't mean it was Yahshuah.

Adam is the covering that is cast over all the people, over all the nations as he is the covering of the tabernacle of Moses, Ram skins (unclean/evil) and badger skins (clean/good), dyed red, which is the word Adam. Jesus became this man of sin or serpent on the cross and slew this image once and for all. This is the cleansing of the temple so to speak.

The tabernacle was the pattern or habitation Moses saw in the mount. But God does not live in a house made with hands. Every time Israel encamped, they encamped in a formation that revealed a cross, and in the midst of this they would assemble this tabernacle with hands further clarifying the truth of the cross. The truth of this pattern when it came down out of the cloud became a truth cast down, just like the law and what the devil tempted Jesus to do to himself, which is the identity of the wilderness, Egypt, the wilderness and the land. These are as the feasts and line up with the three main ones which represent, wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Patterns that show a picture of truth found throughout the entire book. The law of life became the law of sin and death, but there has only been one law as there is only one Father and this law is life. But our perception of the law of life makes it to us sin and death, therefore we must loose our soul to find it. It is the woman/soul that hides the leaven in the three measures, just as it is the soul or woman God gave us that measures.

The First Adam is certainly not Jesus just as Adam wasn't speaking to Mary, it was her perception of who was speaking that is why she had to turn to see.

In 1 Timothy 2:14. Adam and Eve are sort of figures of Christ and the church.

Since Adam continued to live, it's obvious God didn't mean he would drop dead the very same day he ate the fruit. Look at this:

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. KJV

Is God saying Adam will die the same day he eats the fruit, or only that he will die if he eats the fruit? Both ways fit.

Here is Youngs Literal Translation:

and of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou dost not eat of it, for in the day of thine eating of it -- dying thou dost die.' Gen.2:17

It seems God was just telling Adam that the fruit would cause his death.

It seems God was just telling Adam that the fruit would cause his death.
A different take on this is that Adam died *spiritually* the day he ate the fruit. This broke the relationship he had previously enjoyed with God, which is borne out as you read the rest of the story.

Perhaps not ... but what has it to do with me anyway ...

Jesus is the way the truth and the life, all those who are taught of the Father come to him, come to this sonship. It is only through identification with our Father that we come to know him.

The word of God is as the son/sons of God, it/he/we have no height, depth, width, length, it is not a place of measurement. If we hold anything he gives to us from day to day as an absolute truth then we build a city and name it and we go no further in the understanding of who we have been created to be in him. It is an ascending forever or a kingdom whose increase has no end.
