I was at my church's re-encounter when I heard this. It floored everyone there. The guest speaker (who was crazy awesome) was speaking on what we have in christ. This is pretty much what He said.
"Somewhere in the US there is a labratory, where what they do is shoot atoms at each other. When they collide, the scientists monitor and analyze what the explosion produces, to see what makes up the atom. We all know that electrons, neutrons, and protrons make up the atom. Then they shot each of these at each other and found that they are made up particles called Quarks (I believe this is the correct name). Then they shot the Quarks at each other, but all their efforts they found nothing. Then it was concluded that Quarks are made of sound, only sound was produced. It was known before that sound is made of light.
God is light. God was light before there was. Light (God) then made a sound (spoke) and there was. God spoke and His spirit created the universe, God spoke and there was creation through His spirit.
Genesis 1
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.
Through Jesus, and through the new covanent, God gave us His spirit.
Romans 8
16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.
We Have God's spirit inside us.
Romans 8
9You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.
God is not limited, He has no limits. So if God's spirit is in me, And God has no limit in what can be done, then I become a being that has no limit in potential.
We were created in the likness of God, in His own image.
Genesis 1
27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.
God is made up of the Father (soul), the Son (body), and the Holy Spirit (God's spirit). We are made in the same way. In all of existence, man is only second to God. anyone has the power to create, our imagination plans it and our faith creates it through our spirit. Our spirit not only empowers us to create car, and houses, but also supernatural acts seen in the old testiment.
Matthew 18
19"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.
Matthew 21
21Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done.
Those without Christ can't do these great things because His spirit is dead, it has been subdued by the darkness of sin. When God's spirit comes upon us, He cleanse us from sin and breathes life onto our spirit. It is through God's spirit that these great things can come to pass.
I wonder what can happen when we learn to truly believe in something to come to pass without a spec of doubt. I believe that our only limit in potential is the limits we set upon ourselves. We are God's hands, lets grab some attention to the power of God. Lets believe in the bible and witness with power.
