Being tempted in my dreams...

Yes I have had a similar experience being delivered by Jesus from self harming during the day and suffering with dreams where an influence makes me self harm at night but once I started praying to Jesus to guard my dreams He always has and it is only when I neglect that specific thing that I am vulnerable to attacks again. Keep on trusting and praying you will overcome it as Christ has overcome the world.

I also have had snake dreams where the snake is trying to attack me (they never are able to bite in my dreams so I'm obviously being protected) which to me always indicate demons trying to get me to sin again.

I of course continue to pray for deliverance and it has worked in real life but I'm still affected in my dreams by these sins and would like prayer or insight if possible. Do you also find that after being delivered in real life from sins that the devil tries to tempt you in your dreams? Thanks.

That is awesome you have been delivered from that stuff, praise God. I have been delivered from stuff too and have dreams like that too. I used to be a drug addict and last night actually I had a dream that someone was offering me marijuana. It was cool because in the dream I wanted to smoke the pot like I did for so many years but I turned it down... most dreams ive had about getting high on drugs, I would give in and get high.... but last nights dream was relieving. I have sexual/lust dreams often too and will wake up with a huge urge to you-know-what. I think the tempting dreams like that show how strong we are in ceartain areas.

God has delivered me of drug abuse, profanity, cigarette addiction, and a host of others but that doesn't mean i'm not tempted. Every time I see beer in the gas station I'm tempted but God is strengthening me more and more as time goes on and the desire to sin is decreasing.

I'm super glad you are being delivered, what you are experiencing is normal. Keep close to Jesus with prayer, fasting, watching sermons on YouTube, worship music, and fellowship. And of course scripture.

Sanctification is a pruning process. All processes take Time. You are on the right track, my friend! Rejoice always, Pray unceasingly Give thanks under all circumstances. When you stumble He will carry you again.

Father, I pray that this one will plant the garden of their mind, so full of Your Word and thoughts of You, that there won't be any room for these negative dreams to take root in. I pray that if these dreams continue that this one will use them to stimulate him to confess sin to You, praise You for Your goodness and forgiveness, and stimulate him to discourage the world the flesh and the devil by praising You in joy for Your goodness and eventual victory in his life in this area. May he realize that we can control our thoughts by feeding our minds the right things (Ecclesiastes 5:3). May he not only take productive action, but productive reaction. May he not let the negative cause him to reactive negatively with guilt, depression, anger, etc., but positively with thankfulness, joyfulness, praise, and focus on You, instead of focusing on dreams. May these dreams be rendered powerless to defeat him, but be opportunities to keep adding up victories over them, through the power of the Holy Spirit. To Your glory. Amen.
