  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I usually spend time with my fiancee at her school in her dorm which she shares with a roommate and her roommate's boyfriend is usually here so its the four of us in a room usually. Today we had some of our friends (three female) come over and hang out.

When we got to the room, my fiancee's roommate changed and I started undressing to go take a shower and one of the other friends was trying on a shirt so there was, needless to say, a lot of nudity.

One of the three girls that came with FREAKED. I guess she wasnt used to seeing so many people in various stages of naked and I was thinking about it. Shes not prudish, but I mean I wonder if its because the rest of us are basically comfortable around each other and we dont really care about seeing each other naked. I mean we look and check each other out now and then but its nothing steamy.

So I guess my question is, do people in groups sometimes feel more comfortable around each other, enough so to see each other naked (And these are not un-attractive people, mind you) and not be bothered? Or are we just really really strange that way...

No, this should never happen.... ever!

Or are we just really really strange that way...

Yes, i'm going to stick my neck on the line and say you are definitely the first people who have ever got naked in front of each other. If you ask me you should be locked up.

Hope this helps.

I grew up in a different world I guess, but I wouldn't undress in a room with another man except my husband. With other women it wouldn't be so bad, but I think I'd still turn my gaze....but like I said, my world was different. In my day, you'd NEVER get a "respectable" group of young people of opposite sex undressing together.

And the question is.....what's in the mind....especially the mind of men when they see nakkid women....mmmmmm ....nothing, nothing, nothing at all I'm sure........................;)
Ok, I will be more precise.
Not that women aren´t attractive to me (which, however, does not that much depend on the amount of clothes they wear - or don´t wear, for that matter), but I experience myself to be able to frame things according to the situation.
I experience my mind as not always shouting "sex! sex! sex!" when I see naked persons.

A wise man once told me the difference between being naked and being nekkid. He said, "Being naked is when you ain't got no clothes on. Bein' nekkid is when you ain't got no clothes on and are up to sumthin'." ^_^

But seriously, it's a great way to save on air conditioning in the summer.

Nudity and sex are not particularly closely associated in my mind. My parents were often naked in my presence when I was little, just changing and so on, and my mum and I will still quite happily change in the same room together. I had a period of being very shy when I hit puberty, but I think most people do; now I'm reasonably comfortable in open changing rooms and so on. As long as the other people aren't embarrassed, I'm not embarrassed either. I don't look at naked people and instantly think of sex, but even if I did, what of it? If I fancy them, I fancy them, clothed or not. I don't really mind what other people are thinking about me, either, as long as they respect my personal space.

I think nudity is natural and beautiful and the stigma attached to it is very sad.

I'm for more nudity in general. Seeing people naked on a regular basis accomplishes several things. It diminishes the sexual aspect of nudity, so that one doesn't immediately think of someone else's body in sexual terms when viewing a little skin. It allows people to see that very few bodies are 'perfect', and that any healthy body is perfectly presentable and good. And if the environment is warm enough and you aren't doing anything likely to injure exposed body parts, it feels very comfortable.

"Beware mosquitos". Ha! Point taken.

But that's a practical consideration. Clothing should primarily be worn for practical reasons: protection from insects, weather, injury, and secondarily for reasons of personal adornment. 'Morality' shouldn't figure into it, in an ideal world.

Weird thing with me is I have no problem undressing in a room full of people (that I'm friends with) and haven't for a long time. Its not sexual at all since the only person I have sexual feelings for is my fiancee and he could care less about my nudity as long as other men aren't around. Actually my close friends all tend to tease me for randomly changing clothes in front of them..they don't care but I guess its a trademark now. I think nudity is great, but like all other things there is a time and a place for it.

I prefer not to wear clothes. Last summer, I lived in an apartment with no A/C, so if no one was around, I was naked. I'd say a good 95% of the posts I made here on CF over the summer were posted naked.

If it's warm enough and I'm around people with whom I am completely comfortable (and who are cool with nudity), I have no problem runnin' around naked. If not, I usually just throw on a kaftan and make the best of the situation. :)

Technically, clothes were only created to cover our shame.

In heaven, where there is no shame, EVERYONE will be naked. :)

Personally, I see nothing wrong with nakedness. The body is a beautiful, complex and specific thing and no one should be ashamed of theirs or anyone else's. Hence why I believe artistic nudity is a fascinating art.

I'm just like you myself. No A/C in my apartment, so whenever it's a bit hot, I just lounge around either in my underwear or just completely naked. Feels sooo nice. I've never had any problems of being naked in front of others. Might have something to do with going to public swimming halls since I was little, where you have to change in front of completely strangers.

So, let me guess, your computer chair is anything but leather ;)

Back to the op, nope, nothing wrong with being ungardmented

A good number of the parties/gatherings/events I attend tend to be themed with scantily clad people and by the end of the night nakedness is all around. Back in my hippy days when hanging out in hot springs or camping in the woods, almost everybody would be naked. That's fine. I don't mind people who are naked around me. To each their own and while i love my friends it's not for me. I don't know why but I've always been kind of prudish.

And what does one have to do to get invited to these... "events"?
