Beethoven's "Missa Solemnis"

It's been quite a while since I posted here.

I was wondering if other people like Beethoven's Missa Solemnis as much as I do. Beethoven is my favorite composer, and I really feel like he created something very spiritual with this music. I particulary love the final passage of the Credo (the "et vitam venturi" fugue), and the Agnus Dei can almost bring tears to my eyes.

It's a wonderful piece. The violin solo of the benedictus is the most beautiful violin melody I've heard.

As a mass, though, I'm not sure it works that well. It's a great piece of music, though.
