  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi there.

I just wondered how one would go about becoming a CF Chaplain. I am a Priest in the Anglican tradition and Vicar of 4 Rural Parishes. I have been a member of CF for over 8 years now and have been (In my time) a welcoming angel and supporter of the site (which I continue to be) Just wanted some advice really.

Many blessings

This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. - 1 Timothy 3:1

I believe the root word for Bishop is skopus, kind of like a scope in which things are examined and looked after. Thus we have the Greek episkopē, which is one who looks after. I would put the chaplain ministry here on the level of Bishops, which is indeed a good work. God's blessings on such endeavors and thank you for contributing your time here on the CF.
