  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I started attending a Mennonite church less than a year ago. It was a very circuitous route to get to the Anabaptist faith, after being raised as a Catholic. There are a few other families at my church in a similar situation, but the vast majority of the church consists of "cradle Mennonite" families. Is there anyone else who has become an Anabaptist after being brought up in a different faith?

I wasn't raised much in a church going home-we got sent to a local baptist church on occasion...I moved up to PA, was converted to Christianity by a friend I knew in the USMC, and then went to work for some mennonite folks and was discipled under them...

Meteorologist huh? My wife thinks you guys are just the greatest--at least she watches all she can, a real weather nut.

My wife gets the credit for first introducing me to the Anabaptist faith--she was fascinated by it long before we became Mennonites. I guess God was leading her early on. ;)

I'm glad somebody thinks meteorologists are great. Lots of people poke fun at the inexactness of the science, and often times I cannot blame them.
