We live in a world of liars, deceivers,
Mischievous in thought, and underachievers.
Their world is a play where they now play the lead,
Their purpose in all is to others deceive.
They’re wrapped up in self, for the self they do please,
They live for the thrill and what puts them at ease.
E’en if they profess faith in Jesus as Savior,
They do not conform to the Lord in behavior.
The Scriptures they know, but they twist them on purpose,
Remove them from context and share them on surface.
They want their adherents believing the lies,
They want them the truth of the gospel deny.
They do not want them to obey God’s commands,
They do not want them on the Lord to depend.
They want them still living in purpose for self,
Putting God’s Holy Word out of sight on a shelf.
For their plan and their purpose for all of our lives
Is that Lordship of Christ in our lives we defy.
They create their own gospel to fit their desires,
While ignoring the gospel and what God requires.
So they fashion God’s will after the will of man,
So they can continue to ignore God’s commands.
But God says to know Him we must Him obey,
And from His commandments we must not now stray.
We now must forsake all our sins, left behind,
And follow His leading, be like Him, in kind.
