  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This might be a new thing to some of you and old school for the rest, but back in the mid 90s there was an explosion of things called Bulletin Board Systems only to be snuffed out by the worlds largest BBS (AOL) and the internet. Now that Broadband is available a lot of old boards reopened, mostly for the games because the internet did message bases and files better.

anyone else play the old BBS games?

Yeah, Sloth 3 muck. I thought most of the older stuff was long since dead.
It used to be, but thanks to some really great guys, the BBSs have hooked up to the interent via telnet.

Ive got these games running:
Legend of the Red Dragon
LUNATiX
Barren Realms Elite
Solar Realms Elite
Falcons Eye
Tradewars 2002
Yankee Trader
Franchise Football
Stardock Loco
and a bunch more... the only exceptions are those that could not be patched because of a Runtime 200 error in Pascal, or that for whatever reason, just refuse to work.

The games werent dead, they were on life support :D

HAHAHA ya Legend of the Red Dragon was SICK! That was my fav... had to log in on a dial-up to a local server that we had hosted throughout our entire area... it was freakin AWESOME! there was also another one.. uhmmm i dont remember exactly... trade wars? Anyway, it was a space ship game where you had to buy/sell shipments to and from planets to make profit, upgrade ship, weapons, buy planets, etc etc... but ya HAHA BBS are oldschool! How fun :) I had almost totally forgotten about them

Be blessed †
