Brother in Arms will last you about 15 hours... then the funs over.

Battlefield games have infinate gameplay because it doesn't fallow a stupid story line.

I meant for realism and the multiplayer is awesome. But you better be a sadomasochist in order to play Authentic. Battlefield was pretty good but since I'm a WWII buff 1942 just seemed unrealistic.

I played the Desert Combat mod for BF1942 EXTENSIVELY, but stopped a few months ago. I am though looking forward to BF2 this summer.

Yeah, BF1942 was the best shooter ever imho. Since it came out I played it online way too much... well until punkbuster came around I've had just too many problems with PB I finally uninstalled BF1942 recently since I needed HD space and PB was always timing out on me making the BF1942 unplayable. I'd like to get BF2 but PunkBuster will probably ruin that too.

The only thing I don't like is the lack of 'real' sides that `42 had. US, German, Italian, British, Russian, etc. This looks like "Americans" vs. "The Bad Guys who look just like Americans".

Nah, I don't ever need to use hacks. PB just won't work on this computer for some reason. I've even talked to PB support and that was wasted time.

I've run into some trouble wit PB mysef, only in AA (america's army) but it normally just involved editin one of thier .cfg config files so that it would reload or update when I tried to play. What's the deal wit your comp? You say it just won't work on yours, is it the comp specifically? You've not gotten a ban from pb er anythin like that right?

BF1942 isn't bad, mainly cause it's sorta never endin, someones always out makin another mod for it, I've got one right now called Paralle World that's fun against bots, then there's Forgotten Hope but it's a lil to processor intensive. Another fun but buggy one is Galactic Conquest. Star wars for BF. I'll ebay a copy of bf2 one of these days, I'm to cheap to buy it out right hehe, wait til someone needs a bit of cash in their pocket.

Battlefield 2 is not modeled after WWII, it's modeled after modern 21st century warfare. Battlefield 1942 is modeled after WWII combat.

Yeah, that would not be cool. But, my friends and I love BF1942 and this game sound even better. I hope its worth it.
