I play Battlefield 2: Special Forces religiously. I love the game, I train with it at bare minimum of an hour a day.
Something always made me curious about my favorite class and I was wondering if anyone here who plays Battlefield would know.
My absolute favorite class is the sniper class. My personal record for longest range is just over 2,000 yards on a stationary target.
However something puzzled me. I was crouched on the roof of a building looking down into a square when I saw two medics run in and take cover behind a wall. I had a perfect shot with my rifle so I squeezed one off. Dead on shot, he went down. I re-loaded and took aim again, my rifle cracked...and the guy didnt die.
It was a perfect headshot on both counts and each character had full health. Now why, I wonder does this happen? I notice it other times to, a direct shot to the head kills certain people while others escape death. A rifleshot to the head is supposed to be fatal.
One thing I've seen thats frustrating is with the use of the M95. Now the M95 is a .50 caliber rifle, it can put a hole through several inches of thick armor plating. However I have shot people IN THE HEAD with the M95 and not had a kill.
So what gives? A .50 shot to the head SHOULD result in death, even if they were wearing a helmet that could absorb the shot, the concussive force of the shot would probably liquify the brain.
