My favorite gospel is John's. Which doesn't mean I dislike the other three. After John, I favor Matthew. Since I have my preferences, my study tends to put more time into John and Matthew. I am not saying that I ignore or put no emphasis on Mark or Luke, as there is much treasure in all four gospels. It is also true that there are things covered with more detail in one gospel than the other three.
This study has caused me to focus on the 1st chapter of Luke more than I have in the past and it has been a huge blessing! As is often the case with Scripture study, I have become aware of things I have missed before in the chapter, and the chapter's depth is amazing! It is an incredible chapter and merits an in-depth study that brings to mind the fulfillment of different prophecies in the O.T. and God's sovereignty.

Remittance means to "remove, throw away." It is by this means that Jehovah could say:
Jer 31:34, speaking about the sheep, "The LORD says, No longer will a sheep have to instruct his brother or neighbor: (other sheep) "Know the Lord," (as in the past) For (after the Renewed covenant is established) All of the sheep will know me, from the least to the greatest, for I will forgive their iniquity and WILL REMEMBER THEIR SINS NO MORE.
Heb 10:16-17 "Jehovah has declared, 'This is the covenant I will make with my sheep after those days. I will put my laws on their hearts and write them in their minds. I WILL NEVER REMEMBER THEIR SINS AND LAWLESS DEEDS.'
One of my goals with any study is for people to understand how the Old Testament (Covenant) and the New Testament (Renewed Covenant) are inextricably tied together. Almost 99% of theology in the N.T. was already established in the O.T. The N.T. is not just a fulfillment of O.T. prophecy but a record that points us back to the true Jehovah of the O.T., and everything He established! The N.T. is not "brand new, as if something that had never existed before was now in place. It is not "new" teaching established for Gentiles that did away with Judaism, Jewish theology, Jewish history, and Jewish culture. The N.T. did not establish a "Gentile Church" along with a Gentile faith and a Gentile way of salvation! The N.T. is an echo of the O.T. "To the Jews first, then the Gentile!"
Water immersion under John was physical. Yeshua immersing the sheep with the Holy Spirit is spiritual! Immersion under John opened the door to enter the kingdom; being immersed by the Holy Spirit makes a sheep a citizen of the kingdom, a spiritual Jew (Rom 2:28-29, Gal 3:27-29.) Salvation is not a matter of a person "getting saved," John 1:13 Salvation does not happen because of a person's "free will choice." What happens is a sheep is brought to the knowledge of salvation and discovers that Jehovah has already saved them, and this was already decided by Jehovah before the foundation of the world! (2Thes 2:13)
How does a sheep come to a knowledge of predestination and salvation? The process is identical. At a certain point in a sheep's life (the sheep doesn't realize he/she is a sheep until this happens.) The sheep is immersed with the Holy Spirit. As the sheep is immersed, three other events happen simultaneously, the Holy Spirit quickens (brings to life) the sheep, (Eph 2:1-2, 5, 5:14, 1Cor 15:45), the gift of faith is given to the sheep (Eph 2:8-9, John 6:29, Rom 12:3, Jude 3), which enables the sheep to believe and hold on the truth, and the power (ability) to understand what Scripture teaches, (John 16:13)

How do I know that the person I am teaching is a sheep? It is really simple. I only have to show them a couple of verses on a certain doctrine; they see it, they read it, understand it, and they believe it! Just like that! I don't have to explain what the verses mean deeply. I don't have to try to convince or "prove" it to them. After a few conversations with someone and it seems to me that the person might be a sheep, I always attack the false teaching that God loves everybody, which is based on twisting John 3:16, telling the person that God doesn't love everybody and then show the same two sections of Scripture, Psalm 5:4-6 and Psalm 11:5. I never have to go beyond that! They read it, they understand it and they believe it! From that point on, the sheep knows that God doesn't love all people!
Eph 4:5 states that there is (only) one Lord, faith, and baptism. One Jehovah, one faith and one baptism. This indicates that there is only one, and only one, legitimate faith, the only one that is sanctioned by Jehovah. Which faith is true faith? Is it the Evangelical/Christian faith or true Judaism? Obviously, there are different immersions in the N.T., water, Holy Spirit, or fire. So this verse doesn't mean "one kind of," In this case, the verse states that the only baptism (immersion) that matters has to be the immersion of the Holy Spirit! Water immersion can't even begin to have any comparison or equality with being immersed with the Holy Spirit! The immersion of the Holy Spirit is vital and necessary! A sheep can live their entire life never going through water immersion, and it wouldn't matter one iota! No one can be a believer without the immersion of the Holy Spirit! Water immersion is a "work" that a person does, and Immersion of the Holy Spirit is a work Jehovah does; which one gives Jehovah all of the glory? (Is 42:8)
John also said there would be an immersion of fire from the Lamb of God. John is using the imagery of fire to teach that, as fire is used to purify metal and remove the dross (the impurities that float to the service when gold, silver and iron is smelted, turn into a liquid, and the dross is then scooped out), the immersion of fire will make the sheep clean and pure in Jehovah's sight. (Is 4:4, Zec 13:9, Mal 3:2-3) Interestingly, another example of a thing in the N.T. is tied directly to the O.T.
