  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes all do as far as I am aware. Unless the Church has not been finished yet. I was suprised when I heard the East Dont.

These are the kind of baptismal fonts every Orthodox church should have. These are the kind of pics that should have been emailed to the episcopal assembly, so all the Orthodox bishops can be reminded that triple immersion is the norm, not 'oikononia'

Thanks for sharing, Moses!

I've never seen a baptism that wasn't triple immersion in the Church. We have a "horse trough" that we bring into the nave for adult baptisms. When our new temple is built, it will have a baptismal pool in the floor.

By oikonomia i meant recieving everyone with chrismation only. Also in many greek churches the fonts are too small and babies to big (not to mention they dont fill it up all the way), so there really not immersed, they need to go alot bigger! Post up a pic of the baptismal pool when its ready.

Glory to God!

Let us give thanks to the beneficent and merciful God, the Father of our Lord, God and Savior, Jesus Christ, for He has covered us, helped us, guarded us, accepted us unto Him, spared us, supported us, and brought us to this hour. (Beginning of the Prayer of Thanksgiving from the Agpeya of the Coptic Orthodox Church)

May God grant you many years!
