  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Baptism of repentance: Is for Nation of Israel only; under the Gospel of the Kingdom message:

Baptism of repentance was John the Baptist ministry for the Nation of Israel only. A call of Repentance from breaking covenant with the LORD Jeremiah 31:32. Water baptism here is a Jewish purification/cleasning doctrine preparing themselves (John's jobMal 3:1, Matt 3:3, Mar 1:3) for the soon coming prophesied & promised Messiah. Thru whom remission/pardon of sin would be provided.

John the Baptist proclaimed:
Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptise you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptise you with the Holy Spirit:
(NOTE: John Baptised with water. The coming Messiah will Baptise with the Holy Spirit)

Matt 3:11 & Luke 3:16: The baptism into Christ's body via the Holy Spirit. Is a covenant of spiritual circumcision. Done by Christ & ONLY Christ. And done ""Spiritually"" without hands & without water.

NOTE: Translators Capitalized Spirit in the beginning & end of the 1 Cor 12:13 signifying deity.

1 Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
(NOTE: Baptised BY one "SPIRIT" = Holy Spirit. Into one body = The Body of Christ. And no water is required)

Col 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision "made without hands", in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
(NOTE: A circumcision "made without hands")

Deut 30:6 (A) The LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart

Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter (NOTE: Believers are indewlt by Christ with/by the Holy Spirit. A SPIRITUAL circumcision. Done without hands & without water)

Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism
(NOTE: SPIRITUAL baptism & no water is used here)

The moment you accept/trust place your faith in Christ's finished redemptive sin atoning sacrifiial work. Found in the death (sins wage paid in full) burial (proof Christ died) & resurrection (God's receipt, payment received & accepted) of Jesus the Christ. You are ETERNALLY SEALED via the Holy Spirit.

Eph 1:3 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed ""ye were sealed with that holy Spirit''" of promise
(NOTE: The gospel of your salvation is: You heard & believed/trusted. In the Redemptive Sin Atoning Sacrifice. Found in the death, burial & resurrection of Jesus the Christ. And were immediately Eternally Sealed with God's Holy Spirit)

14 Which is the down payment of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession
(NOTE: God's Holy Spirit dwelling within us, is God's sealed down payment on our redemption. And soon Christ will redeem what he purchased on the cross)

Ephesians 4:30 Grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
(NOTE: Believers are SEALED with/by God's Holy Spirit. It's a guard & a pomise that soon Christ will come for us)

Emblem definition: 1. a symbolic representation of a particular quality or concept. 2. a distinctive badge of a nation, organization, or family
When you publicly undertake the Emblem/symbolic representation of water baptism. Where you die to self, are emmersed (buried emblem) & rise up (resurrection emblem).

New Testament Baptism in water:
Water baptism is an emblem of the true spiritual circumcision/baptism. Water baptism is an outwardly public profession of dying to sin, being buried (when we go under) and of being raised together with Christ in new spiritual resurrection life.

John 12:24 Verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground & die, "it abideth alone" "but if it die" "it bringeth forth much fruit"
(NOTE: One must die to self in order to bring forth good Godly friut. Faith & faith alone in Christ's sin redemptive payment is the only requirement for salvation)

Rom 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

The baptism of Fire:
Fire is a symbol of judgment. See Isaiah 5:24, Isaiah 66:24. John the Baptist spoke of this: Its for unbelievers at the final judgment. Like the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, ONLY Christ the final judge can can baptize with an everlasting judgment.

Other baptisms WITHOUT WATER mentioned in scripture:

Mark 10:38 Jesus said can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
(NOTE: Here Jesus is speaking of His baptism into death. No water is used)

1 Cor 10:2 when the Nation passes through the cloud & red sea and were ""baptised into Moses""
(NOTE: 1st, Through the cloud & red sea. The Nation crossed on DRY land. 2nd Baptised into Moses & No water was used)

Acts 1:5 Jesus said; John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
(NOTE: This baptism comes to pass on the Temple Mt at Pentecost & No water is used)

Post mentions types, no numbers & make's no claims Eph 1:3 or the other part you copied are types of baptism.

Are they actually called baptisms in scripture?

Or are they describing the effects of the other baptisms?

Again, the post made no claim the two pieces you copied were baptisms. There were other points outside of baptism made.
