It looks like the feds have no problem making sure a few banks get all the help they can to stay solvent. These banks have said they plan to buy other smaller banks...

Why is this oligarchy so palatable to the government? Is it New World Order finance Bush style? Is it ethical?

When I bring up these topics its to get you thinking, not just to get you to say 'yeah thats bad' or 'yeah thats good'.

Our owners own the banks. They don't own auto makers. Their purpose is to destroy the middle class.

It's not really fair to smaller banks to not provide them with the same kind of support. It's obviously in favor of larger group banks. One could easily be lead to think there is an ulterior motive, which would not be surprising at all.

Unethical? Perhaps. If it's really an effort to concentrate more money in the hands of the few and the rich at the expense of the masses, I would certainly say so.

capitalism = make the most possible money for the benefit of YOU and yours, not society in general.

the world isn't infinitely full of resources to exploit.

Meh. Markets trend towards oligopoly at the end of the day. I guess in a way this is preferable, since if they were going to be oligopolistic anyway, now at least the banks have some responsibility towards the taxpayer. It's only the marginally better of two evils, however. That's capitalism, I guess, and as long as people are blinkered enough to accept it then I doubt we're going to get anywhere.
