So, to this "Demise" fellow I suggest one band: Project 86. They will blow the Korn and Disturbed out your butt. As far as a "Tool-like" band. I think Chevelle's first album is as close as you're going to get. I don't know for sure, since I haven't listened to a whole lot of Tool to begin with.
