Badi Assad

Does anyone here know of Badi Assad? She is an excellent and innovative guitarist/singer from Brazil. I just got a copy of her newest album, "Verde", from my friend at Universal, and I must say that I am quite impressed! While is hard to categorize her music, I'd say it is a very modern mix of Latin Jazz and Bossa Nova. She shows her versatility by covering a song by Bjork and even U2 on the album. She's a phenomenally gifted guitarist, as are her brothers.

She first became famous as a classical guitarist; I'm actually disappointed to learn that she's doing more pop stuff.

I've heard recordings of her and Larry Coryell and it was fantastic.

She's kinda cute too.

I highly recommend her music to anyone who likes guitar playing.

I was just reading about her, and the article called her a guitar virtuoso, so I found her on youtube, but the playing was nothing impressive

I enjoy Brazilian music and enjoy singing along with her on this gem. While I cannot speak Portuguese I can read and recite written words in the language.
