It seems that way -- I shall have to read this part of the board more.Susan said:YAY kern! You're here! I was so waiting for you to show up again!A lot's changed since we last discussed something. As you can probably tell from my recent posts. ^^
Yeah, that's why I avoid that place. My opinions on Yuri are more along your lines then theirs, and they seem really closed minded about a few things (Hellsing evil? Rah Xephon bad? If I wanted to watch Care Bears I'd watch Care BearsSusan said:I don't post here that often, actually. I post more in News where I moderate and in the mod forums.Been kind of busy lately since S&C closed and all the flamers dropped in on News.
I used to post a lot at the Christian Anime Alliance, until an admin and I had a disagreement and I eventually got banned over a misunderstanding for which someone else would have been forgiven-I reported him to the police in his town when he mentioned that he wanted to buy a Ruger 45 but was secretive about why. He banned me over that, however, the ban was more due to our longrunning disagreement centering around shounen ai and yaoi-I'm a fan, the admins there are most definitely not.
I now make most of my (few) anime-related posts either here at CF or on the messageboard at the Suna no Hoshi fansite. Also, you can always IM me.
kern said:A big reason many anime have bad endings is that they are incomplete -- it's very common for an anime to be based on a manga, but only tell about 1/5 or 1/4 of the story that the manga does and then just tack on some invented ending.

most anime starts as a manga. Most manga starts kind of like a trial (like Aa! Megami Sama or Doraemon or Hime-chan no Ribon) and if it sells or if it is popular, it continues. That's why you get extrememly long series like Dragonball, Sailor Moon, Hana Yori Dango or Peach Girl.... they sell well, so it continues. Most manga artists don't start with the ending in mind at all - if it doesn't sell, it's often dropped before it ends, or if it does it's not allowed to end (contract with publishers). So endings are resultantly very sudden, based entirely on viewing audience.kern said:A big reason many anime have bad endings is that they are incomplete -- it's very common for an anime to be based on a manga, but only tell about 1/5 or 1/4 of the story that the manga does and then just tack on some invented ending.
