In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, I'm back...not because I'm single again (I still have a boyfriend) but because...uhh...I kinda miss the place? And someone once pointed out that if you're not married you can still technically consider yourself single, so...yeah. Like it or not, here I am.

Welcome back I've seen you around and you seem really cool!

I like to debate definitions and such; you'll figure that out about me pretty fast haha. I do it out of desire for intellectual stimulation/desire to express my views and opinions/desire to influence others to think critically. I don't do it to argue or anything.

So, my fun debate of the night: as for not being married = being able to consider yourself single, I believe this is true only legally. For me at least, engagement has been a time of becoming one with my fiance emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, and socially. I see no way we could consider ourselves single, we are so united. And, in New Testament times, betrothals were not marriage, but they were legally binding commitments.

Just a few interesting thoughts,
